Neil Matthews
Director
Neil began his construction career with one of Australia’s largest commercial companies, progressing from carpenter to senior manager on major Melbourne projects.
In 1991, he co-founded Matclair, shifting focus to residential construction, and quickly building a reputation for construction expertise in Croydon and surrounding areas. As a highly experienced Registered Domestic Building Practitioner (DB-U) and Commercial Building Practitioner (CB-L), Neil’s leadership has been instrumental in Matclair's ability to adapt to evolving business and economic conditions over its long history.
Russel is a Registered Domestic Building Practitioner (DB-U) and experienced Project and Construction Manager with a strong background in residential and commercial construction.
Holding a Bachelor of Applied Science in Construction Management and Diplomas in Building & Construction and Management, his expertise covers all aspects of construction, from planning to project delivery.
Russel is known for his clear communication, attention to detail, and commitment to craftsmanship—creating high-quality, bespoke spaces that exceed expectations and stand the test of time.

Vanessa holds Bachelor degrees in Finance and Economics, with her 13-year career in the finance industry providing a solid foundation in contracts, insurance, and financial management.
Since re-joining Matclair, her role has included supporting clients in the early stages of their construction journey, managing contract administration and liaising with stakeholders and councils throughout the construction process.
Cheryl built her own home with Matclair 25 years ago and subsequently joined the team as Client Relations Manager.
She has since developed a keen eye for design, established strong relationships with key trades and suppliers, and become the primary contact and a trusted resource for clients throughout the selection process.
